Salaam and Greetings of Peace:
I have been “Tagged” by our dear Sister at the wonderful Almiskeenah blog. It is a book meme tag, and the rules are as follows.
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages)
2. Open the book to page 123
3. Find the 5th Sentence.
4. Post the next 3 sentences
5. Tag 5 people
As it turns out, the nearest book to me was a copy of my own, Master of the Jinn: A Sufi Novel, which I am rereading for typos and errors to correct in the next edition, and in the foreign language editions coming out later this year. Here then are sentences six, seven and eight from page 123.
The ancient faqir seemed lost in thought for a moment, watching the light slant across the waves as it was absorbed by the sea. His face and beard were turned red as the waters, as if he too were absorbing the light. Without turning, he said, “Verily, God’s mercy precedeth His wrath.”
PS: If you would like to read the whole book, order HERE, or get a FREE EBOOK of Master of the Jinn in pdf format. Just email me at Irvingk57 at aol dot com and write Ebook in the subject line, and I will be happy to send it to you :)
