The Soul of Genius

Salaam and Greetings of Peace:

“Neither a lofty degree of intelligence nor imagination nor both together go to the making of genius. Love, love, love, that is the soul of genius.”

–  Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Because Allah has created you out of love.Million years back one fine morning Allah has appeared before a miracle mirror and fell in love with HIS own image. So HE created humanbeing out of HIS own image.

  2. “The function of the art is to express love. What most people fail to understand is not the artist’s work, but his essential unworldliness in wanting to give love.”
    — American Poet, Kenneth Patchen

  3. Irving says:

Wow, a name from my youth :) I remember reading Kenneth Patchen’s book, The Journal of Albion Moonlight in the 60’s. And I seem to remember that the quote that started off the book were lines from Robert Graves’s poem The Common Asphodel:

By a knight of ghosts and shadows
    I summoned am to tourney,
Ten leagues beyond the wide world’s end –
    Methinks it is no journey.

  4. I’ll check with my copy. We had the same experience… it was hair-raisingly inspiring for us neophytes, no?! I met him twice, and he gave me one of his painted poems, which I’ve just somewhat miraculously retrieved from the Void. Long story… Blessings…

“The angel lay in a little thicket. It had no need of love; there was nothing anywhere in the world could startle it—we can lie here with the angel if we like; it couldn’t have hurt much when they slit its throat.”

But that Graves poem is splendid. Patchen vacillated diametrically between very lyrical spirituality and dark Ohio-mining-memory (his origins) often bitterly ironic tragedy.

Thanks a lot for such a great feeling. I do share your feelings.

  6. Josef Sefton says:

Both intelligence and imgination when used lovingly honors the God of creation. Loving doesn’t turn us into a genius but it does provide proof that we are growing spiritually, for God is love.

Dear Irving and Friends, we all have our mind, will and emotions. The deep question is whose advice shall we listen to?
Jesus taught that we are to use our mind , will and emotions to love wholeheartedly the Creator.

We live honourably before our glorious Creator when we love him with all our mind, soul, heart and strength. Truly humbly reverencing the giver of life is the key to being successful in loving our neighbor as ourself.

Without an intimate loving relationship with the eternal holy One we would lack the will and power to turn our cheek when we suffer from provocation and persecution.

One of the many evidences of the Crearors’ existence is the marvellous phenomenom of people praying for their enemies as Jesus commanded us to do!!!
