Sufi Journal Items of Interest

Salaam and Greetings of Peace:

The new issue of Sufi Journal, Winter 2006/2007, has just been published, and it features many things of interest. There is a wonderful Sufi poem by Sadiq Alam, who writes the spiritual blog Inspirations and Creative Thoughts. There is also a review of The Spy of the Heart, an exciting true account by Robert Abdul Hayy Darr of his exploits in Afghanistan. You can read the book online by clicking here .  Also, there is an excerpt from Master of the Jinn: A Sufi Novel.

You can order the magazine ($6.00 per issue) or subscribe here.

I finally got my blog decent enough to release to more than a few people, and one of the upgrades was a blogroll. You’re on it! Thought you might like to know. :-D

  3. Sadiq says:

Thanks a lot brother Irving for mentioning this unworthy servant.

    Jazakallah Khair!

  4. Irving says:

Salaam Dear Sisters Leila, Suroor and Katie, and Brother Sadiq:

Thank you all for the kind comments :) Sadiq, we are all unworthy servants, attempting to perfect our servanthood. Alhamdulillah, that our Master is All-Forgiving of our shortcomings.

    Salaam bhai,

    Salaam Dear Abdul Bhai:

You are thinking of our brother Matt and his Notions of a Purple Ontology blog. The Shibely story is in the October 4th, 2006 post, so just scroll down the page until you get to it. It is a famous story from Attar’s Memorial of the Saints:

    Ya Haqq!
