Mabrook on your blog. This is great; I was anxiously waiting to read your work. InshAllah, I’ll be buying your book sometime next month when I go home for the summer.
I was wondering… Can I share ‘The Song of Love’ with my students? I teach a short course on Andalusian poets mainly Ibn Arabi, Ibn Zaydun, Ibn Khafaja, and Ibn Farid and someone at work recently mentioned that we don’t read contemporary Sufi poets. I have some more ideas about your writing that I’ll email you about, InshAllah. I really liked The Song of Love. I have always been fascinated with the word “Be!” That is all He needs to say.
“God whispers “Be!” and infinity takes eternal flight”. Beautiful!
welcome to the world of blogging! some lovely posts, do continue. it’s opened my eyes to a whole world of sufi blogging that i hadn’t explored before :)
Hi, just wanted to say you have a very nice blog, am gonna add it in my website in the blogs section, but i think you should replace your background with a better one.. but this is just my opinion :)

Salaam dear Sister:
Of course you can share my poem with your class, or with anyone you choose. Please let me know how the class likes it.

asallam alaykum Ya Irving! and welcome to the world of blogging, I don’t want to stroke your nafs, but let it be said that I am glad your here!
I don’t know if I will make it to your appearance in NYC, maybe, inshallah, Allah knows I want to…

hi irving,
welcome to the world of blogging! some lovely posts, do continue. it’s opened my eyes to a whole world of sufi blogging that i hadn’t explored before :)
p.s. i meant to say that i like this poem a lot too!
Shukria Irving!
Just beautiful, makes me soar as well.
Isn’t it a sufi thing not to call yourself a sufi?
Indeed you are correct, Brother. If I have inadvertantly called myself a Sufi, I am in error. I am only struggling on the path.
May Allah bless you and forgive me.
Ya Haqq!
Salaam ‘alaykum & welcome to the blogistan :)
A beautiful poem – thanks for sharing!
Warmly,
Baraka
