Love is What You Are

March 30, 2012

Salaam and Greetings of Peace:

Love is not something you get from others. It is what you are. When you demand or expect someone to give you love, you are operating on a fase assumption, which is that you lack love and must get it from someone outside of yourself. There is no such thing as “outside” your self. The One essence of the universe is love itself. Love does not exist only in certain places. It is not a scarce resource. When you meet another, you are really meeting yourself. You are meeting love. This remains unseen because there is a dream of separation that is being played out through unconscious thought and emotion within your body and mind. The lack you feel within is illusory. It is the direct result of unconscious thoughts and emotions. As long as these thoughts and emotions remain unconscious, they fuel the dream of separation–the story that you need others to give you love before you can be complete. Notice the mental story of lack and its accompanying emotions when they arise. When awareness shines on that story, the story is seen to be not real, merely conceptual. What is real is love itself. “Love” is a pointer to what you really are. Stated another way, the awareness that sees the story of separation and lack as unreal has, as one of its nataural attributes, unconditional love.
