Be Praised, My God!

Salaam and Greetings of Peace:

Be praised, my God, by butterfly and dragonfly wings exercising for their first flight.
Be praised by lightning and thunder causing spring showers.
Be praised by the silent voice of grass growing and trees budding.
Be praised by all the colorful flower trumpets of spring.
Be praised by downy feathers freshly dried on newly hatched ducklings and chicks.
Be praised by the songs of birds, crickets, and frogs.
Be praised, my God, by all your creation which tells of new life.

- A new canticle, from Sr. Mary Goergen, OSF

What perfect thoughts for a beautiful day as I sit outside at my Franciscan University in Olean, NY

Thank you Irving for sharing these very moving and true observations with us. Praising God truly honors Him!

The gift of life is an astonishingly wonderful gift from the Creator, but He doesn’t stop there. He offers us the opportunity to choose a new direction. He gives us the chance to find new meaning, new faith, hope and love by trusting and obeying Him wholeheartedly. This wonderful Creator that man is privileged to honor and serve guides him every step of the way, so that his witness lines up more and more consistently with Jesus who said: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see (experience) God.
