Beautiful dearest Irivng! I just happened to stumble on the wordless movie, “Baraka” on youtube this morning and what you’ve written here matches up so well with that beautiful movie.
Dear Irving,
I’m so thankful for your website and your kind words you’ve left for me.
What a reminder this beautiful poem is to always rejoice in the dawn’s awakening and our connection with the Divine, always residing within us and surrounding us.
Blessings to you!
Mashah Allah,
My Shaykh tells the same thing to me! Make sure you are in Remembrance of Allah when you wake up. If it is not there, correct yourself. Only then you get out of bed.
Your post also reminds me of the song ‘The Morning has broken’ by Yusuf Islam (then Cat Stevens)..
Salaams.
I enjoyed your poem my blessed Brother . Appearantly we share the same lifestyle and I hope not the same illness (myasthenia gravis). While true and beautiful, your ending left me earning for more. I was expecting a mention of the rise of Virgo in between dawn and dusk if not the irrelevance of time. May all prayers be answered.
One cannot help but breathe with this poem and weep for its beauty. Thank you for this extraordinary peace this morning, oh beloved.
“Each new day we are given
Is a blessing from God”
How true! Mashallah you are blessed with the power of the pen, dear brother.
Salam… a very beautiful poem brother – thank you for sharing your work. :)
Beautiful! I think we should all print it out and read it when we wake up.

Beautiful, Beautiful!!!
Dearest brother, your words fill my heart with light and the breath of hope,
What a gift you are to us all,
With reverent love, Maithri
I like this breathing meditation – I can really feel how the inbreath and the outbreath form the sounds.

Blessings to you!
The rise and fall of your lungs
Is the body’s prostration
The prayer of life
Invoking His name
alhamdulillah!
Ah thank you for this beautiful poem. Your posts always fill me with peace.. May God bless you in this holy month..
Am going to breath deeply every morning :)
I Love this poem. I pray that you are having a blessed and beautiful Ramadan.

Assalamualaikum Irving,
Surely this is another beautiful composition from you. ^
Thanks for sharing. :)
When you go to sleep,
don’t expect to awake from your slumber
You may find yourself lying in the grave.
So before you close your eyes,
take Allah’s pure name,
free yourself of sin
then close thine eyes.
In Gods name do we Die and Live.
Allah and Paradise are waiting on the other side.
May Allah inscribe firdaus in our book of destiny. (ameen)
ma salams.
Beautiful dear brother…thanks for sharing.All-ah All-ah……
