Of Speaking, Silence, and Generosity to Neighbor and Guest
Salaam and Greetings of Peace:
The Prophet (pbuh) said:
“Let him who believes in God and the Last Day either speak good or keep silent, and let him who believes in God and the Last Day be generous to his neighbor, and let him who believes in God and the Last Day be generous to his guest.”
- Hadith reported by Abu Hurayrah and recorded by Imam Bukhari and Muslim.
Beautiful reminder..Unfortunately nowadays most people in big cities like Tehran, even do not know who is their neighbor. Even though they live in same apartment.. They just prefer to remain unknown for others and stay in their circle of friends and family.
Beloved Papa Irving,
My sweetest salaam :)) Hope you and your loved ones are doing fine.
A very Beautiful Hadith :) It reminds us to be aware of our speech: if you cant give roses you have no right to give thorns either. Connecting with people around us is so lovely, it opens up a whole new world! i wish we do it more often :)
Ameen to the words of The Prophet(pbuh) :)
Lots of love, hugs and prayers for you sweetheart!
To me, this quote brings to mind thw question of the relationship between belief in God and morality – what it might be like and even whether there is one. For example, we’ve all known immoral theists as well atheists and agnostics whose behavior is highly moral.
Buddhism also comes to mind. Here the Judeo-Christian-Islamic concept of a Creator is absent. Yet anyone who adhered strictly to the Buddha’s Eightfold Path would behave in ways that would be most highly regarded by all three western faiths.

I’m generous but I have trouble keeping silent :( Inshallah will follow the good advice
Amen to these beautiful words,
Love and peace brother, Maithri
