Salaam and Greetings of Peace:
April is National Poetry Month is the United States, and the Islamic Writers Alliance is holding its 4th annual poetry contest. The deadline is May 15th, so please click HERE for more details. The theme this year is Iman (faith), and there are categories for all ages.
In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest,
where no one sees you,
but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art.
- Rumi

The Illuminated Mercy of Man
Blessed be him, the Shinning Tree of Light
A Lamp with no bulb, though illuminates with Flight
Creation at its Best, Smile opens any closed doors of depression…
Which gave warm peace to cold wars
Firm with Law, Comforting in Purifying the inner souls, both dealt Merciful
Gazing through nature’s landscape, imagine his handshake
Eyes that could level you with love, care, and Brotherhood
His love for us is beyond deep, greatly above motherhood
Water in his palm would be proud to be held
Would flowers grin in joy were he nose to smell?
Teeth in his mouth, resembling pearls in line
Did they feel at bliss being a tool for words of “The Sublime”?
No friend of “The Ever” revealed would reach his knowledge and understanding
All books would be envious they weren’t revealed through him
Words of “The Ever”, the only message built for greatness of man to ponder wise
To him be blessings with peace, his company, and kin
